Learning Journey: Team@work
MAKES ONLINE COLLABORATION EASY
The “Team@work” learning journey focuses on the specific challenges of online collaboration. The fact that many teams are at least partially connected remotely requires a specific culture and set of practices. Qualified participation in video conferences and mastering the associated capabilities are the focus of this compact four-week learning journey — online collaboration needs to be cultivated, too. This learning journey is designed for employees who have little or no experience with video conferencing tools.
WHY A LEARNING JOURNEY?
Collaborative teamwork can only be improved through daily reflection and practice involving everyone. Accordingly, the “Team@work” learning journey addresses basic topics of online teamwork. Its scope and style are tailored to non-academic professions. In this way, the learning journey provides basic training in helpful soft skills for interacting with one another in the online environment.
What does the learning journey include?
We cover the following topics in the Team@work learning journey:
-
Getting in touch
-
Supporting moderation
-
Using tools
-
Moving forward
A meeting with the learning journey facilitator is scheduled at the start and end of the learning journey.
The workbook contains concise, sequentially structured learning sessions on the development of online collaboration. Following an introduction by a certified learning facilitator, participants organize themselves into small groups of 4–6 people and proceed through the workbook and its topics. Multiple learning groups can run simultaneously. Participants read the material themselves or have the prompts and tasks read aloud by a digital assistant. The effectiveness for everyday practice arises from the systematic linking of input-exercise-transfer-feedback, repeated consistently over several weeks.
The learning journey facilitator supports implementation with weekly motivational emails. Furthermore, the dynamics of the learning groups foster a sense of commitment, provide highly appreciated network value, and enable the crucial person-to-person feedback. As a result, this training aligns particularly well with current insights in learning psychology and systematically validates the still-emerging “Learning Circles” format for professional development.

A Look Inside the Workbook
A comprehensive workbook is provided for the entire learning journey, guiding participants step by step through the learning nuggets with input, exercises, transfer tasks, and feedback. Each unit of the learning journey also includes a transfer task, ensuring that everyday work situations are always taken into account.

TIP: COMBINE WITH OTHER LEARNING JOURNEYS
This four-week learning journey also serves as a preparatory module for our other learning journeys. Since all learning journeys in the Design Studios are designed to be conducted via video conferencing, the Team@work learning journey can introduce participants to digital collaboration, and subsequently — with greater confidence in using video conferencing tools — another learning journey can be carried out. The “Teamwork” learning journey is particularly suitable for this. We offer a combined price for the “Team@work” and “Teamwork” learning journeys — please feel free to contact us for more information!
